How text messaging works

Warmly Invited sends a text in two cases, and only two: a guest opts in themselves, or an approved host texts a guest they already have a mobile number for. Here is the ordinary flow, from invitation to first message; the approved-host case is described further down.

  1. A host creates an event and invites their guests. Each guest receives their invitation by email — a link to their personal invitation page — unless their host is an approved host who has only their mobile number, in which case that first message arrives by text and says so.
  2. On that invitation page, a guest who would rather get event updates by text opts in themselves: they enter their own mobile number and check a consent box (shown below, unchecked by default). Nothing is pre-filled and nothing is pre-checked.
  3. Only after that opt-in does Warmly Invited send texts — an opt-in confirmation, then event notifications for that guest’s events: reminders and RSVP confirmations. Every message includes opt-out instructions.

The opt-in, exactly as a guest sees it

When a host texts you directly

A small number of approved hosts can send that first message by text instead of email, using the mobile number they already had for their guest. If that is how you heard from us, the message said who your host is, what the text was for, and how to stop:

  1. The first text identifies the sender as <your host> via Warmly Invited and carries Reply STOP to opt out.
  2. Replying STOP stops every text from Warmly Invited immediately — not just from that host. Replying START turns them back on.
  3. Approved hosts are capped on how many texts they can send per day and per event, and nothing is sent overnight — except a message telling you an event is cancelled, which is never held back.

Everything else on this page still applies: no marketing, no sharing of mobile information with third parties, and no list you were added to.
